hmmm.... knocking upon cold start?

So i turned the car on after it had been sitting outside all day (its cooooooooold btw), and for the first 3-5 seconds I heard some knocking from the engine which soon stopped and didnt reoccur. This is my first real cold start for the year (yes we have 75 degree weather in November here in NC). Any ideas or is this just kinda normal. (New NGK Iridium spark plugs a week ago btw - dont know if that makes any difference) thanks guys.

Change your oil and filter - use a Nissan or other good quality filter.
A little bit of noise is ok, don't worry about it.

I sympathize with the guy, it was 82 here. But try a new oil filter, it may have leaked the oil back into the pan and so you were running without oil while the pump filled it back up. Fram oil filters are great for leaking out, their internal construction is garbage.
