My Maxima is on its last breath!!!

So Im going to work and stopped at a red light. Then I start to smell something. It is cold outside and my windows are rolled up and heater is on low. Then some light bucking occurs while I am stopped. Later, the bucking is so nasty and violent that it is unbarable, but the car still never shut down. Then I start seeing smoke; more and more of it. I notice that it is bluish colored. WTF HAPPENED TO THE CAR ??? When I tried to accelerate harder by gunning it, power has been lost tremendously. I tried that only once.
Any ideas??
Thanks

Have you checked your fluid levels for starters, eg. oil, coolant?

Are there any noticeable leaks?

Does the car start readily once its cold?

The car starts the same as before, before this happened. Leaks I see none. Fluid levels I am going to check now.

So you were sitting there, notice smoke and something smelling, not only do you not pull over and check the car out, you proceed to floor it to see if that would do anything?

Hmm. Interesting.

Where did the smoke come from, tail pipe or engine bay? Blue smoke (IIRC) is oil burning (white = coolant, black = engine too rich, fuel burning).

No, I had to get to work(I was like less than 5 min away from work), I didnt floor it then. It was when I was comming home, that I floored it ONCE, and i noticed huge power loss. Smoke comming from tail pipe, I opened hood and no smoke was present.

Earlier in the day, my mom was using the car, and she called me and said that she cant start it. I told her to pump the gas pedal 3 times, then start it. The car had started. Later Im sitting at red light and the car just craps out.

all good recomendations, def. check the levels, esspescially oil and coolant, and look for leaks or anything, my guess is if its the head gasket you blew one hell of a hole in it.

Well, my dad just took the car to my uncles shop and we'll see what will happen. Either way I think I should start looking for new engine. Is a 2000 engine a direct fit ? If so, I got the 00vi and all those goodies all in one...YES! I know you will tell me to go to the all motor forum, but I just want to know if anyone will throw something at me here. I will keep this thread updated as soon as I find out what is going on.

Sounds like its time to change your headgasket my friend. Don't get a cheap one, use some High Rev to seal it up also.

Iight, heres the deal. My dad told me that one of the injectors was leaking and when they attached something to the engine to manually crank it? there was gas spitting out of the cylinder(s)? after the sparkplugs were off. So he tells me there was fuel in the oil and that one of the injectors is bad. Then when he is at the mechanic already, he cant start the car at all anymore, starter died. He went and got a new one with my uncle for $105 and if we bring back the old one we get $30 back.

I think your Max needs to cut down to only one pack a day. Sounds like lung cancer. My Max had a problem like that but no smoke. I had an extreeeeeme power loss, it barely even started Ihad to floor it to turn it over, and power steering was ****, I reset the ECU and let my Max sleep it off for a day and it was fine a day later.

I'll throw one bone at you....

Yes it will fit but you have to worry about how you'd control your 00vi variable intake. Now hit the all-motor forum!

The VQ30DE uses electronic multi-port fuel injection. Do not pump the throttle before starting a fuel injected car, it's not necessary and will do absolutely nothing to help you start the car.

I'm leaning towards headlight fluid on this one. The smoke and all would be the tipoff

I'd recommend GL-5 peepee in the headlight reservoir. Maybe some Dot 3 in the coolant, and some Super Tech (Wal-mart special) oil for the housing.
