yea. the KS code can be thrown as a result of other codes. replace the O2 sensors first, and then check.

(or is it that the O2 code can be thrown as a result of the KS code???)

It is more than likely the KS. Maxima's are known for that. I have already replaced mine. The KS code is a ghost code. I will not triger the CEL.

If it was a result of a O2 sensor you would have that code too

Does your friend/mechanic tell you your windshield washer works, when it's out of fluid?
Nothing is really wrong with it right?

If the trouble code keeps coming up, common sense says replace the sensor.
The knock sensor code is known to come up ALONG WITH oxygen sensor codes. If your not getting any other codes along with the KS code, then you can conclude the KS is defective.

Where did you get the info about the KS not being a Vital part?

Somebody has been feeding you all the wrong information.

Check Ebay for 22060-30P00.

Goodluck.

I just got a new knock sensor from Pinnacle Nissan (www.nissanparts.org) for $90. I think it was a one-day only special though, they normally have them for around $120 I believe.

I found that if you don't have small hands it can be a pain to do. Took me about an hour to do yesterday, but it was a frustrating and sometimes painful hour.

You lose a significant amount of power and probably 2-3 mpg. I PMed you back.

so if the code comes up for a knock sensor and the rear o2 sensor, replace the o2 first and recheck the knock???
