Exhuast question re; removing OEM unit.
Hi,
My '96 Max is due to have the original exhaust replaced as its very rusty and hanging together with wire ties. I'm considering replacing it myself with an aftermaket cat back unit Greddy Sp2. Has anyone installed a Greddy Sp2 system in their max, and what are the potential trouble spots. By trouble spots I mean removing the OEM hardware and/or installing the aftermarket exhuast.
Thanks,
Chris...

its really easy. you shouldnt run into anything but stickie bolts. I unbolted the y pipe from the rest first. then took off the remaining stuff. Make sure you un plug the o2 sensors first. Its really not a big deal, mine was off and on in an hour or less.
I installed my GReddy SP2, the only problems I had later on were the gaskets. I highly reccommend going to a dealer and buying genuine nissan exhaust gaskets (for a catback... there should be three,) one from the resonator to the catalytic converter, one from the resonator to the b-pipe, and one from the b-pipe to the muffler.
