anyone remove that plate between TB and intake manifold?

removed that plate when i cleaned out my tb last week, looks like it restricts air inkate by about 1mm and seems totally useles. of course my car has been f'd up since i took the tb apart. could the lack of that plate cause a vacume leak?? tb seems tight and seal was ok, maybe the bolts are too long w/o use of that plate?? just wanna know if anyone did this?

Isn't it there for a reason? I think someone had it removed and had the jerky experience....

There are a ton of horror stories of people cleaning their T/B and having issues after. It sounds like you may have damaged the T/B while cleaning. The plate probobly has nothing to do with the problem.

that is only for the 3.5 tb with the dbw. the 3.0 tb is driven by cable and is not near the sensitivity of the drive by wire.
