Shifter Boots and Ebrake Boots Part 2

Happy Happy Joy Joy!!!

So I got a second set of leather boots for my baby from REDLINEGOODS.COM today. I asked Maciek (org sponsor) to make me a shift boot version without velcro (I hate velcro), and to re-design the e-brake boot a touch.

ANYWHOO..... I couldn't be more happy. The new boots arrived today and I installed them. PERFECT FIT!! YES YES A PERFECT FIT.

The Shifter boot got on flawlessly and sits in the reverse lockout groove like a perfect size jimmy hat

The e-brake boot was a touch harder to install but once on, everything worked magically, it doesnt get caught or anything, its flawless.

I really wish the pics were better because they dont do the leather justice. I think the silver stiching offsets our aluminium trim perfectly and the thick leather makes the clangly shifter sound dissapear.

I showed my folks and they thought it was really spiffy, were gonna get a set for the Vibe and the Bonneville also (GM Employees :S)

Anywhoo, props to Maciek and REDLINEGOODS.COM this is a fantastic design job they did and I'm blown away.

Thanks Again Maciek, (DZIEKI i POZDRAWIAM!!)

Well I sent them my origional shift boot so I imagine all future designs will be based on that template. Just specify if you want velcro (UGH!) or elastic.

I cant describe the difference, its so much plusher and thicker.

No wait here it is:

Is all I can say.

Tha just gave me an idea, see on the auto, you dont need the shift plate, the gates are predetermined inside the tranny, you could pop out your shift plate housing and install a leather boot. I know cause in the manual there wires are there for the shift lights.

THAT WOULD LOOK PIMP! a manumatic with a leath shift boot.

Anyone else out there has a 6sp on black interior?

Comon guys i wanna see what it would loook like in yours. Rambergs e-boot looks sweet on the red e-brake handle too.

I wonder what the automatic to manual switch over would look like

I have a 6 speed with black leather interior also. Does the leather match the NIssan leather in color?

The color match is pretty close, there is definately more grain in the leather. I guess its hard to tell on the pics if the color is close. It looks damn close in my eyes. Believe me, unless you see it on your own car, you really missing out on a great product. Besides it gets rid of that ugly vinyl and the .30 cent plastic ebrake.

Peace,

Kam

The leather and the boot is nice, but what caught my eye is your shift ****.
What kind is it and was it easy to install? Thanks
Car is looking good.

Thanks Kam,
Nice pics, appreciate you replying so quickly. Thanks for the link as well. Sure hope I don't drift off topic here, but was wondering did you have to do anything special to get that on there. I could have sworn there was another post about people saying it was a pain because of the reverse mechanism. Ok, i'll leave this thread alone now. Thanks.

No no its cool, to be honest, the Razo **** slipped on like a glove, it was designed for the reverse lockout mechanisim without a doubt. It comes with three adjustment type screws and you use the one that matches your stick the closest. I just like how the shift BOOTS match so well with the **** and the rest of the interior.

Peace,

Kam

Sorry to bring this back from the dead but I have a question. I was wondering if you had any trouble getting your ebrake boot installed? I got mine and my shift boot and the ebrake would BARELY fit over the end of the ebrake. Then another 30 minutes to slowly work it down to were it needed to be. It ended up all wrinkled and the top thread ripped.

My e-brake boot was hard to put on near the end but i used a bit of leather conditioner and it slipped on like a glove. Snug all the way to the very end, no ripped threads. You have to remember the leather will grip against the handle because the handle is made of synthetic rubbers . In the end the e-brake and shifter boot took me a total of about 15min.

Good luck bro.

I'm not sure if you know but I was the very FIRST 6th Gen to email RedLineGoods and I sent him the temp plate to design the 6th Gen E-boot, so I started this boot mess amongst the 6th Gens and damn proud of it. RedLineGoods does awesome work and my ride is showcased on their site...

I might have to follow your lead on that, but I got the ones with the silver stiching and I dont want to dye the thread up.

Actually I'm very happy with the color, maybe a little softess would help, i think some mink oil should help that out.

Peace,
