so i took one of my friends for a ride in my max and now he's dying to race me.

y pipe (hopefully will come 12/2)

Him:
04 tiburon gt v6 stick
stock

I've beat my friends 04 stratus r/t coupe auto from stop and rolling start. and dead even with 02 3.2tl from 60-90 (cars in the way so we had to slow down).

so do you guys think I can take him?

those tiburon are pretty quick in stick so be careful.

 

my guess is nope. hes a stick v6 and you're an auto, period. theres a kid from my work who has the GT manunal tib, those things are pretty quick, why do you think he wants to race you so bad?

would you be running him on the higway or like 0-60 type?

 

id say the max would win.There quick but there not that quick,i just looked up its times Hyundai Tiburon GT V-6 7.1 15.6.So with your y pipe in you should pull away on him.

my friend also has a tib v6 stick his is 02 i think or 03 he wants to race me in my 98 auto max he has intake... i have seen him run hes fast but i think the max would get them in the long run if u race long enough....

Stock top end A32 Maxima power sucks, and so does the tibby, but the tibby's power doesn't fall as bad as the Maxima.

 

I think a manual tibby would take you. Not that a 15 sec car is quick but they are fairly quick for what they are. I had one hang with my SN-95 until about 40 I wasn't launching at all but he was but after that I just played with him.

 

Just race him and let us know what was the conclusion...the only way to find out FYI just make shure your fuel tank is 1/4 full!

when you go to race h im... make sure you take out extra weight to give you a better upper hand.. like take the spare tire out... the jack.... so u can go faster......itll help a little

 

go from a roll that will somewhat take away his advantage of being a stick their about 7.1 0-60 if I recall so it should be a fairly even race.

those crappy tiburons only have like 200 or 225 hp stock. any vq with mods should be able to take that, specially running a 15.6

Quick cars nonetheless that seem to take mods well. I've had to be careful around em myself and not get suckered in.

 

so i was over...that makes it even better for the max. those sights should invest in listing 1/4 mile times.
