Can someone post a pic of where the EGR valve is?
If someone has a general pic of their engine , could you please post a pic showing approx where the EGR valve should be? I have a 2001 but it was a very early 2001 model , i bought in October of 2000, and read that some 2000 models have EGR valve.
There is a diagram of it in the 2000 FSM (Both 2000.0 and 2000.5). Download a copy of that and you'll see where it is. If its not in the 2001 FSM, are ya sure that any 2001s will have an EGR? 
I don't know enough about this, but I would think the FSMs would at least contain some info about it.
And before anyone asks, there was a very recent thread which contained a link for where to download FSMs, so look for it.
