Check the tire pressure more often as you lose air quicker in colder weather.

Rotate the tires if necessary.

Get a pH test done on the radiator coolant if you haven't flushed the radiator in the past 2 years. It may be time to replace the antifreeze.

If you can check the electrolyte level in your battery do so.

Visually inspect the belts and hoses and CV boots.

When were the air cleaner and fuel filter last replaced?

Have you ever used Chevron Techron or any other fuel additive, eg BG44K, Gumout Regane, LubeControl FP60?

I thought there were certain fuel additives that slowly degraded some components nissan used in their fuel system till they were replaced sometime around 2000

I agree with everything Bobo mentioned. In particular, you want to make sure your battery is up to snuff as cranking power goes way down in the cold. Also, many who have had problems starting up in the winter (myself included) swear by a throttle body clean if it hasn't been done in years. You will also start up easier if you are running the recommended 5W30 (if you normally run 10W30) oil. Also, many will say you should try to keep your gas tank full to minimize water condensation in the tank--a bottle of Drygas handy can treat for fuel line freeze.

To keep it in good shape don't smack it up. Your tires play a huge role in traction during cold temps and snow covered roads. Make sure you run an all season tire or dedicated snow depending on where you live.

Wash the salt off regularly and don't forget about the undercarraige.
