1. 1/4 mile race may not be the best place to run a maxima vs V8's , i think a longer run (highway) would provide a better chance ***not promoting highway racing!*** 2. what was done on the maxima, auto / 5 spd but it doesnt really matter cause it wasnt me that was gettin beat 3. i agree w/ 96customax it really kills my night

 

A maxima would lose even worse on a highway against an SS camaro.

 

i doubt that was a stock maxima, it kept up with the z pretty well

 

What really pissed me off was the guy kept trying to beat that camaro
then got the nerve to race a d@m Jeep,...and lost!! ahh

last time i went to the track , there was a group of jeeps there, 2 of them ran high 12s and most of the other ran high 13s and low 14s.....

btw, i ran a 16.0 on one of my runs, droped the clutch at about 4k with all season tires and ran a 3.0 60' foot...

best time was a 15.1 tho which wasnt bad for stock

 

a V8 Jeep has can be pretty quick. This video has been posted before, and it is pointless to be disappointed when a V6 is racing modded V8. The only way to be disappointed is if the max was boosted and still lost that bad. The guys taping the video are obviously cocky retards, and the maxima is not the fastest family sedan out there. It's quick, nothing else.

Their were Grand Cherokee's made only in 1998 that had the 5.9 liter v8 and were AWD. They are putting out 245 horsepower stock, I'd be willing to bet even a stock 5.9 could run damn well with a stock maxima...and it doesn't take much to make those jeeps even faster

 

Maybe it is just me, but at tracks around here you can't race with a passenger and WTF was with the hazards going on half way down the track?

245 from a 5.9L??? That sucks...are you kidding? Almost twice the displacement and only possibly 50-70 more hp than a max?? Um..I'll stick with the max on that one.

 

I haven't seen in Car and Driver or anywhere else where a Jeep of any kind would beat a max THAT badly, a 5spd anyway. I have a feeling those guys making the video got into that guys head, plus he wasn't experienced, plus it was probably an auto.
I don't think even the Hemi Jeep (stock) is that much quicker in the quarter, jeeps are a lot heavier.
