Hey guys. I put in my new ss brake lines and now i'm having trouble with the brake bleeding. I topped of the fluid and had my dad press my pedal while i opened the bleeder valve. Here's where it got weird. Nothing came out. Could I have let That much air into my system that no fluid comes out? Just to check I also opened the valve on the front left and nothing still came out. Does the car need to be running? Or can it be on Acc? I'm really clueless at this point.

You need to pump a really good amount of fluid through to bleed them correctly. Keep pumping the pedal until the fluid runs clean, with no air bubbles. A quart size container should be flushed through the system for a complete bleed and flush.

If your really not sure of how it's done, you might want a mechanic to help you or complete the job for you.

 

you do know to close the bleeder valve before your friend lets up on the brake pedal right?

 

top out brake fluid. Leave the bleeder open, keep on pumping until fluid came out then close bleeder and bleed it like u normally do. make sure the resivor doesn`t empty out while ur doing it. Start out with rear passanger side > rear driver side > front passanger side then drive side.

with engine off,
1) break loose bleeder then slighty tighten it.
2) pump pedal three times and hold it to the bottom
3) open bleeder, fluid will came out with bubbles, close bleeder right before the fluid stops flowing so air doesn`t get in there.
4)Repeat until clear/bubble free fluid came out.
5) after ur done with all 4 wheel, clean up the mess : /
6) step on the pedal all the way to the bottom with engine OFF and make sure it is STIFF
7) step on the pedal all the way to the bottom with engine ON and make sure it is still stiff

with SS line you get instant/solid braking power.

Basically, firmer pedal feel. I highly doubt it will actually improve stopping distance (I have had a set on my car for the last 8k or so and noticed no difference in that respect.) In theory, the old rubber lines are worn and are likely to expand a bit with fluid and heat, whereas stainless steel won't distort, allowing for more consistent pressure.

My pedal felt firmer after installing, but that also could be in part due to new brake fluid and bleeding.

 

Hey guys. I finaly got some fluid coming out. My dad was helping me earlier and i dont think he was pumping the pedal, just pushing it. I got my cousin to help me out. It took a while for fluid to come out but eventually it did. I guess I had a lot of air in my lines from the install. My brakes feel much firmer now. Definately a noticable improvement. Thanks for all the help!
