This past Friday, I started to smell a strange odor while driving. I opened my passenger side window and was engulfed with what smelled like a strong urine like smell or something like a burning electronic smell. I can only smell it when I am driving, with the passenger window down. If I stop the car and inspect the front end, engine compartment, etc., I can't smell a thing. It's not the rotors, there is nothing coming from within the engine compartment. There is no visible sign, e.i. smoke, when I am driving either.

I am totally baffled by this odor and was hoping to see if anyone on the Org has had a similar experience. Or perhaps someone out there has an idea of what it can be.

I have to drive with the windows closed now so that I don't have to smell it. I am hoping it will eventually go away on its own.

 

I had a similar problem... has your coolant been flushed recently?? I don't drive my car much but I just topped it off and the smell went away, i really need to flush mine tho.. just an idea because I had some really strange smells like that before topping it off...

 

Maybe something or somebody "sprayed" under your hood.
