Sporadic Hesitation and Stalling...

Folks,

I recently come across a sporadic hesitation and stalling issue. I've got 125K miles on my 95SE. Here's the symtpoms

1) Does'nt happen all of the time.
2) I feel a hesitation/hiccup in the engine while curising.
3) While I get on the accelerator, it almost feels like its being deprived of gas.
4) When at idle, the car will stall unless I feather the throttle.
5) When trying to get the car in motion, I've got to rev the crap out of it just to get things going.
6) Once going, it chugs along until the problem clears.

Here's what I've done so far:
1) Filled the tank b/c when it happened initially, I was on "E". Problem went away for about 3 days.
2) Problem came back. So I put in Iso-Heet to get rid of water and an FI cleaner
3) Problem came back after putting in liquids.
4) Just replaced fuel filter and problem hasn't occurred yet, but it's only been 1-day.

Any other thoughts would be appreciated!

Good point. Nope, there's not been a CEL on since this problem has occurred.

i was having similar problems and found out on here it was more than likely the MAF sensor. they are really expensive new $500+ but i got one shipped to my door for $30 from another person on here that was parting out their car in the classifieds section. I replaced it and all my problems went away.

Just checked the price of a new MAF - ~$425. The problem has NOT yet occurred recently since the fuel filter & additives but still waiting and seeing.

I also noticed the idle sometimes drops a bit (down to 500) and returns. IS this also a symptom of a MAF going bad?

www.car-part.com. I got mine for 45$ shipped.

Put ~ 10k and 14 months on it, and no problems ...

That happened to me for like a week and a half .... the RPMs would decide to slam all the way down when they felt like it while cruising. Eventually the car stalled out at a stand still and a CEL came. It was a coolant sensor if I remember correctly, but then again my dad took it to Nissan and not me ... plus I didn't know how to pull codes so who knows what it was.

My point is just wait for the CEL ... it'll come.

same simptoms i had, just dont pay full price for a new one. look in the classifieds section and try to find a used one if you feel this could be your problem. i went ahead and bought one but i narrowed it down to the maf becuase i opened the hood while the car was running and messed with the wires going to the maf and my car would die out. this is after i had the problem for a while and then suddenly my car started dying after putting it in gear or stopping in traffic and major hesitation while cruising.
