@!#$ Exhaust Dilemma!

I'm buying a new cat-back system to accentuate my Budget Y-pipe and I have narrowed down to TWO choices. I found a Greddy SP2 for $467.24 shipped and a Apex'i World Sport Exhaust for $427.64 shipped. Which one to get?

I know how the sound and such, it's just that which one is...better? Like which is the better deal/quality.

That's the problem, I like 'em both! Hear good things all the time about both systems and they look pretty much the same, it's just that which is better bang for the buck.

go with the Apexi world sport exhaust. Good quality, good sound, and it is a little bit cheaper.

Based on the statement above, since you feel that they are both equal, then the cheaper one is the better deal right?

Neither! Flowmaster, with custom piping, or get a b pipe from Budget or someone

^^^ are you serious? why do you think that is such a good idea?

if he says he likes how the Greddy and Apex'i sound, why would he want the sound from a Flowmaster?

plus, it is much more convenient to bolt it in in your garage rather than haul all the parts to a shop to be welded on and pay for that (assuming he doesn't weld, which might be wrong).

I vote Apex'i because I think it is harder to find and less common the the Max's. Plus cheaper. But either way, you can't lose.

I would usually agree with you, but he specifically asked between the two brands.

I'de say go for the WS. It sounds a little quieter than the greddy and it is cheaper.

well why not? flowmasters sound sexy, and if you get the right set up could get more of a muscle sound over ricy

They do indeed sound great on American V8's, but do they sound as good on a 3 liter V6?

I have Flowmaster Deltaflow series 40 on mine, everything else is stock. My Maxima sounds really good and it doesn't sound like a V6 Camaro with exhaust at all. It idles with a nice deep rumble and the droning isn't bad at all and then quiets down at around 5k rpms. Just saying that there is nothing wrong with having this exhaust on a Maxima as many other orgers, like me, have them. But suggesting this exhaust in this thread is irrelevent IMO because MechAnt just needs help deciding between Apexi and Greddy. He's obviously going for a different sound and he's got money in the bank to afford it.

kormax, i was under the impression that APEX'i was very deep and quite. perhaps it is your y-pipe also, that causes it to be loud? would a larger resonator help?

well.. i've gotten 2 tickets already for loud exhaust for $54 each but I still have mine on. hehe.

It is the Y pipe that makes it louder. It was very soft and low grow when I didn't have the Y... With the Y pipe, it sounds nice still but it's get a lot of attention from the cops.

Greddy is 60mm... even though I have the SP2 myself I would probably vote Apexi, it's a bit cheaper and (I think) quieter.

if you want a louder more noticable sound than go for greddy but if you want a more subtle growl and a beast at WOT than go for the apexi

have the muffler but not the catback but don't think that would really make a diff. its quiet under normal driving but pretty loud and deep under WOT.
