car in trouble. just want yall's estimate and answers

well i was leavin from my friends house and i was turning left around this bend and then took a right and as i was takin it, my car slid and hit the curb.(it was raining). front left wheel completely ruined. bent the rim and axel and couldn't even turn left. i tried to drive it back to my friends which only takes like 3 min when all of a sudden, the car stop while it was in drive. it would only rev and when i shifted it into park, it made this loud rapid clicking noise. so we just pushed it from there.

could it be the loss of the cv joint makin the car not go? i am hoping its not the tranny. i'll prob tow it tomm to a shop but my guess it well over 1g.......

Sorry to hear about your accident. Best way to tell would be in the mourning. Jack up the car and see what will need replacing.

My guess:

Axle :$144shipped (raxles. . . quality)
control arm: $75shipped (bestsuspension on ebay)
bushings and sway bar end links ($150)
strut
wheel bearings maybe be screwed $50 for new bearing
alignment will be needed $40-$75
more I cant think of.

I wouldnt say a G but it will be a good few hundred.

If you need an axle for cheap, go on ebay and order from 6512cv. I had great customer service with this seller, and the axle has yet to disappoint me. Granted, it's only been a couple thousand miles, but it has impressed me so far. You need to take the initiative and send the seller an email telling him the particulars about your car (auto, abs/no, non-lsd, year, etc.) and they will get the right axle out to you.

Pull it apart and take a look at it. Take some photographs and post them online so we all can see what you're looking at. I'm dealing with the same thing on my buddy's Mazda3, he took it into a curb last week. Pretty sure he bent the tierod and the rim.

Next time, slow down in the rain, man.

Labor will eat you up some, but if you have a little know how you can definately do it yourself and save some money. Or if there are people in your are willing to help out at a much more reasonable fee than any shop.

Or when you take the car to get worked on, your phrasing and logical reasoning can save you money. For example, Say you need your control arm changed, axle changed, and wheel bearing. Call them and get quote for them doing wheel bearing and control arm. When they do the wheel bearing they have to take the hub off, and the axle is easily accessible, they'd just have to spend 2 minutes pulling the old and puttin in the new. If you were to list all 3 they'd push the price up beacuse they already see it as a more work.

Just a thought.

its hard to tell, if you can lift the car to look at it, that could help. the axle could just be snapped and therefore cant give power the the outter wheel.

Is the car even starting? as long as the car will start and the axle is ok, then the car should move.

I had a similar accident a couple weeks ago going around a corner his black ice and right into the curb. I bent my control arm and needed a new ball joint, thank god I was only in first. With bending like you said I would say you had already almost completely snapped you axle off from the wheel and trying to drive home made it completely come apart. depending on how the wheel bend you may not have bent you axle only popped it off the wheel on impact thats why you heard the clicking when the car started reving.

i think that might be it. i went back today to get a better look at it, but forgot to take pics. axle didn't break or anything, just pushed back a little.
i called some shops up and they said high hundreds and 1 place said over $300 just for the freaken control arm (from the dealership). i might just take it somewhere and order all the parts for them
