Spray-Painting pros step in *PIC*

hey guys, im painting the girlie's dash silver, and im having a problem:

the center piece that houses the climate control is giving me trouble..I washed it, de-greased it, and wet sanded it, [dried] then painted... EVERY other piece is coming out great, but this one has what appears to be deep scratches or something, only visible when the paint is there. I've wetsanded the bad areas thoroughly a few times and i keep getting the same results... i don't see the marks until i paint... looks like this:

what should do?

Are you using primer? Does it show those "cracks" when the primer is applied?

How 'heavy' of an application are you using? Hopefully you are letting each coat dry fully before applying another coat.

no, im not using primer, but like i said, the others look fantastic, without primer also... same steps different results on just this piece

putting on light coats, and waiting at least 10 minutes between each coat...whats recommended on the can...(so yes they're fully dry)

I suggest you wait longer than 10min, to get nice quality, scratch proof surface, I'd suggest you waiting a good 2-3hrs before applying another coat.

Put primer... let it dry for about 30min, put another coat of primer, wait another 20min, then apply your first coat of paint, let it dry for about 3hrs... apply 2 more coats w/ 2-3hrs in between and let it sit over night, then spray about 2 coats of of clear coat, let teh first coat dry for about 1hr

If you want perfection, you can sand between each coat of paint.
