My Air Bag light is blinking

I just took my car to get its emissions tested and the ABS light was on after the test, which happened last time I took it in too. But after I turned off the car and back on the light turned of but then my Air Bag light started to blink. Is this related to the CPU trying to give me digagnostic codes? Not sure. I haven't turned on my car in while not sure if it will still be acting up when I turn it on after work. What is this?

Ok thanks,

How to reset SRS(air bag) light

Open the driver's door. Note the rubber covered button located low on the B pillar, a button which is pressed by the door when the door is closed. This is the Driver's Door Switch (DDS).

Turn the ignition from OFF to ON. Press the DDS at least 5 times within 7 seconds after turning the ignition switch ON. Turn the ignition OFF. Close the driver's door. Start the engine.

If the airbag warning lamp is still on (or still flashing), there is a fault in the Supplemental Restraint System which must be diagnosed and repaired. This is a job for your local friendly Nissan dealer.

A good way to solve this problem, Is to remove the dash board then with a screwdriver pound the living crap out of the bulb until it breaks-

Then shake out the broken glass and collect it to spread over the charles river later-

Now re-install your dash- hooray, no airbag light

Sean, what year is the car? 98 was the first year of side airbags, and the control modules tend to fail. This is common amongst 98 model years. The part is rather expensive, but your air bags won't deply without it.

my airbag light was blinking. it started after I had changed the battery. I was able to get the blinking to stop my doing the ignition switch on and quickly pressing and releasing the door switch. the important element seemed to be leaving the car off for awhile. The lght stopped blinking only after I left the car for a few hours.

i thought abs was anti-lock breaking system? Mine came on after my emissions test probably because the dude hit the breaks while he was on the spinners. a simple turn off turn back on in the parking lot fixed it for me.
