Maxima went in ditch, now Camber WAY out...
I recently hit a ditch. End result: Replace bent Control arm, fixed bent tie-rod, and got an alignment. Here is the question: my camber is now way out on the driver's side (impact side) front. The top of the tire is out and the bottom of the tire is in. After the alignment, the guy was able to get it to 1.8 deg, but that is still in the red (even after camber kit). He said my strut might be bent. Can I just replace the strut and it would be straight, or is there more that might be messed up (spring, strut mount...)? I get a very high speed vibration while driving straight and it is VERY annoying. Everything is stock, and I would like to keep it that way, so I don't need to do anything fancy, just a stock replacement. If that is the case, what should I go with? I dont want junk, but don't want to spend a lot of $$$. Thanks!
You'd have to make sure what is bent. Check everything else for damage-the mount etc. If it is the strut and its bent, then i would just replace the front pair with tokico blues or something. I would advise against replacing just one.
experienced something like that last week, slid into a curb and ruined my driver side wheel. had to get: new control arm, used rim, strut, wheel bearing, cv axle, tire plus labor. i can tell u this, if i hadn't gotten that repaired, i could of gotten sum d2 coilovers.
if u wanna go cheap look on ebay and get the parts and check out the junkyard for a rim if u need one. get a pic if u can
