I am throwing a EVAP code and have been since before my VQ35 swap. The other night after driving for about 2 hours I parked my car in the garage and noticed a very faint almost squealing noise coming from the rear end of my car. The noise is not constant, it pulses. After further inspection I narrowed it down to the EVAP Canister (Box) located behind the fuel tank.

Has anyone else noticed this same noise?

It only seems to happen after extened driving.

 

Hey Warner. My car throws the 0111 evap code. After I erase it, it will come back after highway driving like you mention. Not really sure what to do about it. It will become more pressing in June when I am up for inspection. Not sure what to do about the new OBD scan emmissions portion of the test.

 

I dont get the code but I have that noise every now and then.

I got the code 1 time the day I bought the car, havent gotten it since.

most likely it's time for a new canister and the purge valve that mounts to the canister.

 

I did that not too long ago. Maybe 1.5 years at the MOST.

 

I never noticed that sound before.

I have a code for a faulty EVAP vent control valve fault. Is that under the hood by the throttle body or behind the fuel tank? pics?

 

Pretty sure that is the one behind the fuel tank.
