Drag only Control Arm Brace
I've been thinking about how Independant rear suspension equiped RWD cars (like the Corvette) don't like hard drag launches as much as cheesy live axle RWD cars like F-bodies most Mustangs.
And it gave me an idea. Basically, our front control arms act somewhat like the rear of a Corvette does during the launch. They get wheel hop sort of like we do too.
I'm thinking about something you put on and remove afterwards. Basically a strong, solid strut bar running from one side of the car to the other, solidly linking both control arms together. So the front would almost act as non-independant.
Is there a setup like this on high-powered FWD cars? Has anyone heard of something like this? Do they use anything resembling this on 9/10-second FWD drag cars?
Speculation for or against this?
Edit: Just found something for SVT Cobras:

That sounds a lot like what I was thinking... maybe there is hope for our FWD boats after all lol

I don't think the dynamics of the wheelhop are comparable. IRS cars are loading the drive wheels and increasing camber. FWD cars are unloading the drive wheels and decreasing the camber.
