i have no idea what the problem is. about 2 months ago my neon died in my car that was hooked up into the front 12 volt outlet. i thought it was the light at first until yesterday when my brand new neon died too. (i had that one in for about 2 and a half weeks) what the heck is going on?? the outlet in the back works fine and i never had problems with it. the neon doesnt work at all now. i checked it and its connected properly and i tested with another 12 volt battery and it refuses to work.

i thought maybe by having the light plugged in while start up messes it up a little bit, but i seriously have no clue. any ideas?

Are you saying it doesn't light up when it's in the front socket? If so then The fuse is probably blown..
If the light isn't lighting up at all... You prolly bought some cheap neons.. Go return it and explain to them what's happening...

your probably right. the one neon that went bad was from Pep Boys and the brand was Tropical Neons or something like that.
