For those of you that have been following my saga...
Spoke with the seller Fri and he says that the auctions have not produced any leads-the cars coming through did not have what I wanted, costing too much, etc so he suggested listing the car on ebay under his name disclosing that fact that it had been wrecked to see what we could get for it. To me this was risky and I wasn't real comfortable with it so I just traded it in on a 06 SE Smoke, Leather, Sunroof, mats and the sensory pkg for $$27,500 plus TTL. I owed $20280 on the 04 SL and they gave me that. The only catch is that they have to get the car from another lot in the region so I am nervous about the next few days with them inspecting the car further. VA does not have a 3 day cooling off period but I don't know if they can deny the deal if the find out anything.

by the way is '06 brand new?

 

If it is new it should be okay. I hope that it would be atleast close to new. The 06 models haven't been out that long. Good luck. I hope that an 06 could not have been wrecked that quick. There is one guy who started a thread about how he had an accident in his 06 but he was racing when it happened. Check the weekend battles section it should be on there. It said something about a big accident. He was really chewed out about it though.

This 06 is brand new, I was having issues with my 04 SL which at the time seemed like a great deal, leather, bose, sunroof, 10500 miles for $21k.

 

Brand new '06, then you got a good deal $$

 

I thought $27,500 for SE/leather/bose/sunroof/mats was a good deal, they wanted me to pay more but I did not budge. Hopefully I will not be receiving a phone call about the car I traded in....

Found out that the car I want has the bluetooth on it so I they are giving it to me at invoice which is $260. Not sure if I will use it or not and I did not want/need it but I guess I will have it....

 

hey, kinda new to this deal but, i just bought an 06 se driver's prefered pkg, bose, bluetooth,etc... for 28,500. They have to order the car from the plant in TN so I do not expect delivery anytime soon. Just wondering if I got a good deal... Thanks for the input!

 

Hey Greg, congrats on the 06'. What dealer did you go to?

 

The good thing about Bluetooth is after you've realized how useful it is, it will get rid of any impulse to get some ricey exhaust installed, since the annoying drone of all these aftermarket exhaust systems will ruin the ability use it. Some will see this is as a bad thing (the ones who think a 1/4 horsepower gain is worth all the extra noise).

 

Victory Nissan of Chesapeake. I think it was a good deal and they were the first stop and thankfully the last because I hate playing the game!

 

I have the Injen CAI and a CE mid pipe from the previous maxima to go on, think they will interfere with the blue tooth?

What cell phones/carriers work with bluetooth? I currently have sprint buy they have merged with nextel.

 

I think you most definitely will have trouble with it. If road noise from sticky tires affects it, an exhaust drone will definitely not help. You might hear people just fine, but you will probably sound too quiet against all the background noise to the person on the other end. You may have to yell instead of talk, which might be okay with you, but the person you're talking to will think you're

I have Nextel, which just started to offer Bluetooth in the i870 (my phone) after the Sprint merger. I don't know jack about Sprint phones. Push-to-talk, bluetooth, and camera are all I need.

 

Good deal, I got mine from Hall and I will not buy a tricycle from them from now on. You got a much better deal than me!

 

LOL-I know that's really not funny. I am glad because they or Green Gifford was next on my list if things went south at Victory.

 

If they gave you 20 large for your trade that had been wrecked and you still got a brand new 06 for 27 and change, then you for sure got a good deal. Most invoices are in the neighborhood of 29 before rebate. I think you did well. Bravo.

Yeah, it's a lemon. The easiest way to get this done is with the attorney. These big companies will try to strong arm someone like me. Hall Nissan is not helping much either. How's the service over there at Victory?

 

I had a very good experience with the sales people but seeing as I will take delivery of the car tomorrow I can't speak for the service. I hope I do not need to become on a first name basis with the service department....

What is wrong with yours?

 

I had the brakes done 3 times, struts 2 times, cd player, cv boot is torn, transaxle seal broken, gauges ratteling, interior panels coming apart, clicking under dash, horn bad 2 times, shifter boot torn 2 times, fog lights keep blowing, clutch pedal squeaks, passenger side mirror only works some of the time. I'm sure there is more, just can't remember. It sucks cause I love this car.

 

SO what's the problem?

Wow, I hope my 06 is better than that. This will be my first import after all Fords and I have had good experiences with them. What are they going to do? Give you a new one? Buy yours back? Was yours new when you bought it?

 

What do you mean what's the problem? I'm sure you're 06' is much better than this one. It's not very seldom that a Nissan has these kind of problems. Mine must have been made @ 5pm on Friday! lol I am persuing a re-purchase for full contract price, yes it was brand spankin new. It had 52 miles on it. It still smells new to this day!

 

Are you going to get an 06 and if so from another dealership? Are they working with you at all? BTW I was joking about the "What's the problem"...

LOL, that went right over my head! I'm not sure what I'm gonna do if they buy mine back. I may get something different, I was considering a G35 but now I'm hooked on the RX8. Although I love my Maxima...I may get another and if I do I will NOT go to those bas!ards at Hall. They are "trying" to fix it, but I keep missing work cause they have my car. There are a few things they just flat out refused to fix and they say "no problem found" with other issues that the car has...even after I pointed out all the problems to the service advisor, took the tech for a ride, and provided pictures of problems that could only be seen if the car was on the rack. It sucks and I'm stressed out about the whole thing.

 

Greg, I am so glad that you got rid of the wrecked Max. Dealers won't look at the car you traded in unless they want to put it on the line. If they do they will see it was wrecked and send it to auction themselves. Now, next time you wanna buy something on Ebay, do your homework. Congrats on the ride!

 

Thanks-only 400 miles on it and I just finished the install on the Injen CAI and CE mid pipe. It is so nice working on a new car without rust, dirt, and bolts that don't like to move. Since this is the 3rd time I have done it it was a breeze. Now, do I do the sway bar mod......?

 

glad to see that things worked out for you. we ordered ours back in november from green gifford the salesman was the only honest one that i talked to out of all the tidewater dealerships. dealt over the phone (im still in iraq) and gave prices and didnt bs me. she picks up the car this saturday and i cant wait to see the pics when she gets it home. i wont see it until like sometime in march when i go home for r&r. brought the 06sl with everything but vdc for 30,250 but i have to pay my own tax, tags and title. i guess that its a good deal because im not there to really negotiate or look all the paperwork over but i will defintely call my wife on the cellphone while she is there finishing up the paperwork. i talked to hall, victory, and one other on mercury and they were nerve racking. wouldnt give me a price just kept telling me to come in and let my wife see what they had to offer. told them what i wanted and they couldnt find it in their database. wanted me to settle for one close. then couldnt give me a price until they got it off the other dealers lot. called green gifford. told them what i wanted and he told me that there wasnt one in existance at the time in which i knew. but he said no problem if i didnt mind waiting for a few months he would just put in an order to the factory. gave me a price of 32,000. told him that another dealer said that he would do it for 31,000. said fine ill give it to you for 30,500 if the rebate stays at 1250 when the car gets here. called him this afternoon and he said good news the rebate went to 1500 so that makes my final price 30,250. cant beat the service but i havent seen the invoice of the car. but from some of the stories that i have read i guess the deal isnt bad. cant wait to go home on r&r and install the exhaust on it and have my first drive in an 06. with my luck it will be a ride because my wife said that she fell in love with the way the se rode on the test drive and cant wait to see how the sl feels.
