Kumho commercial...W...T...F (X games last night)

I've seen this commercial a few times, but I still can't believe they continue to play it.
It's worse than the stupid Bridgestone commericals with the dancing chicks in the sequin dresses.
Kumho express yourself? IT'S A TIRE!! WHAT AM I EXPRESSING?
You got some fakea$$ models holding ski poles like they're skiiing, but they're not, and what does skiing got to do with tires anyway.
I own Kumho's but what crackhead marketing department paid for that commercial?
It makes me NOT want to buy Kumho's again, why are they doing this.

They seem to be accidentally running a sneaker ad where they show people doing this and that, but it's not a sneaker, you don't play guitar with a tire, you don't play guitar in a car either.

Obviously you didn't get the message, Kumho does not want your business.

I think vodka or Jack would work better.

I think they do, MX's are hard tires to resist buying for my purposes, but who are they trying to attract with those commercials? Ricers? It seems geared towards kids who aren't old enough to drive.

Note to you:

It doesn't matter how good the tires grip, wear, resist hydroplaning, etc. That is not what tires are for.

The only thing that matters is if they have cool looking sidewalls and "ultra-aggressive" tread patterns. Because it's all about expressing yourself with what your tires look like, not how it performs.

DUH!

Kuhmo isnt marketing to you with this ad they are marketing to 16-10 year olds that have a basic possibly sporty car that might want a little more out of there car so the next time they go to there basic tire dealership and they see kuhmos they'll think "yeah i like those"

Kuhmo markets to us with there ads in GRM and SCC etc etc, basically pointing more twoards their performance. That commercial is for joe schmo

the power of persuasion and souless advertising executives. i guess kumho is too cool for school, and all the little x-gamers out there love it. i must say, they did a nice job to appeal to those future customers.

Ad must be working. It prompted you to post on an internet forum. They win. You lose.

So you hold to the theory that any publicity is good publicity?

people will always remember the ad and then think, "those tires must be good." not knowing anything about tires, but bought them because of the cool commercial.

Sounds quite a bit like the bridgestone ads with the people dancing around and singing with spinning tires floating across the screen. I think the chick in that ad is wearing a sequin dress too.

I don't know how "good" it can be, it makes me want to buy something else, and not Bridgestones either.
So in your mind the "born from Jets" (Other cars) post slamming the stupid commerical regarding the rebadged blazer is good too?

I saw the commerical again, it has a guy doing a backflip on a motocycle in it....they don't make motocycle tires...or skis...or ski poles...or guitars. While I agree that the GRM and Car and Driver commericals are more geared to car guys...who are these commercials really geared to? There are far more adults that would think these commercials are stupid than kids. Even if they're hedging their bets, I would bet that most of the "kids" they're reaching have mommy and daddy buy their tires for them anyway. And if any of these parents see that commercial, two things that are going to turn them off, one is that there is no mention of safety, two is that "race proven technology" to a parent could be misintrepreted to mean street racing.
I still stay it's a stupid commercial that isn't helping their sales

So you don't know, my opinion could be shared by more people that end up NOT buying their tires.
Following this logic of yours that any publicity is good publicity why not just put a **** flag in the commercial? Or Osama or Hitler...everyone would really remember the commercials then.
