follow what mendon says, your giving a strangerall of your personal info detailing down to what you have installed...Contact JL and see if they are a legit distributor before jumping in...just my 2pennies.
There are too many strings attached and commitments to getting sponsored, it'll take control of your life in many aspects...
Gotta see if its worth it to you , to bend over backwards just to put JL stuff in your car- and whats the big deal with that? Its not Unique....everybody these days has their stuff...

takin over ur life in more ways than one....take it from me personally. i had a semi sponsorship with paradox. well lemme put it this way the stresses of trying to finish a show quality car in less than a year is rediculous.
Somewhat reiterating what others have said.
First off, you gotta impress them for them to choose you. Impressing JL audio with your installs is different than impressing the guys on this forum or in your neighborhood.
Second off, who here has realcompetition experience? Notice how it says what shows have you been to and which will you be going to this year? They're not looking to give out products. They're looking to showcase them. I haven't really seen any "showcase" quality cars on this forum. No offense. Manny's is real clean and prolly the closest that I would know of, but still I think a MDF box, no real fabrication..... They're looking for more than that.
They will require some shows/appearances. I don't know how much.
Sorry to put it this way, but prolly (no offense if I'm excluding someone) the only person on this forum with the skills to pull this off themselves (without having a shop do an install which would be REAL pricey) would be Don, assuming he has the fabrication skills which he prolly does. Metalmaxima has great glassing skills, so maybe with more in car install experience and knowhow.
One thing I will say though....tons of heavy duty fiberglassing stuff can be time consuming, but you can do a "sponshorship/competition" quality car in not too much time if you really have talent and knowhow. My local competitor buddy did a sponsored car that took second at Iasca finals in two weeks, not even full days. No crazy glass (nice kickpanels, but nothing elaborate), just a solid install that sounds great. Then he also did his (sponsored, of course) car that won 1st place at Iasca Finals Pro 601+ in not too much longer (http://www.imagedynamicsusa.com/gall...g2_itemId=5110) I think he's now also the featured vehicle on the autophile's homepage since he's also Genesis sponsored). He just has the skills and knowhow to do stuff at a level that I only dream of in less time than one of my far inferior intalls takes. His car is his daily driver too. Thats how I wanna roll!
No offense meant, we here are just small fish in a big pond
Edit...whats paradox?

I actually called JL Audio and this sponsorship contest is in fact for real. I've already submitted my application. I know some of you have bad expieriences with sponsorships, but i think this is still a good oppertunity for anyone out there building a show car and planning to attend events anyways.
