It does suck....just get new rings, and buy extra this time. that's what i had to do. not really sure why it does that, but every now and again. hopefully i won't have to mess with these anymore and they start working right.

Ahh, man that sucks. I was planning on buying a set of these. Do they happen to do this all the time? Have others here had similar problems? I would hate to keep opening these up and having to deal with these problems. Greeneyes, do you run these when the outside temperature is cold? If so, maybe the cold has an effect on them when powered.

yea i just ordered a new ring and ballast for the right side. my rings never stay attached to the headlights so they break. hopefully the glue i ordered from unitzma works this time. 2nd replacement ring in the past 4 months.

I had my DDEs since october...saaame problem. i called them and they are sending me another ring for just $10 shipping. they covered the ring. but sometimes cold weather will make one of the bigger rings not light up, needs quite some time to come on. put ur highbeams on and let it sit for up to a half hour DRIVING or running and if it still doesnt come on than uy need a new ring. this is overall a great product though.

I thought the cold start issues were solved according to Umnitza!? I still love the look of these on my car so yeah i want to fix them but I dunno how much more my headlights are going to last with all the times Ive been baking them. Yes this happened to me before and had to do the same change the ring...... Im just kinda mad I have to do it again.......

Email Matt at Umnitza - He's a stand up guy and I'm sure he'll work with you to get this resolved. I've been running mine with no issues for a year or so now. Couldn't be happier. So don't worry, there are plenty of happy customers out there.

pink eye! Yes, that happened to be before. The cold weather was the culprit.

Ditto.

Dont mind the crappy camera quality, waiting for spring to reopen these headlights back up.

Same thing happened to me, but I know what happened to mine. I was wrapping the wires coming out of the headlight with electrical tape. Apparently, I tugged too hard on one and it completely came out of the ring. Since one wire is still attached, I have a half lit ring, same pink/purpleish color from the half lit side. Anyhow, I had covered my headlights with Lamin-X film before they started giving me problems, so now Im not sure how to open the headlight housing up without ruining the film. And to make matters worse, the inside ring on the other side will not work either, I believe its a bad ballast. Needless to say, I have left it alone for a while. I hate to not fix it considering the money and time Ive already spend on the setup, I just hate that they require so much maintenance. Quick question....have you been applying any additional "adhesive" to the headlight housing to make sure it seats properly since youve opened them up 3 times already? Good luck on your problem.
