I need to buy a white paint that i can lightly brush over the edges of the DDE's where I put the epoxy. the epoxy has turned brown from all the heat. what kind of paint to buy (white) that will withstand the heat?

I would think white touch up paint would work just fine. Be sure to clean it well first.

 

im just afraid that regular touch up paint wont stand the high heat. i have long highway drives everyday...and i usually have my lights on. so a lot of heat is generated for long periods of time.

thats funny, My glue is also turning brown. I really dont want to open up the lights again, Soooo I think im just gonna deal with it

I dunno. That sounds kind of strange! Those DDE lights (i am assuming you are talking about the angle eyes), they should be regular cold cathode lights. If they are, then... as the name suggests... they run at cold temperatures. Therefore, the only heat would be coming from your headlights. Not, the DDEs.

 

happened to me as well but i just got a new ballast and outter dde ring so i gotta open them up again anyways, i bought some high temp chrome paint to go with the headlights.

also, just curious.. 2 questions for the people that paint their 2k2 headlight housings black:

1. what kind of paint do they use, just high temp black enamel?
2. what do they cover the chrome outter edge of the 2 headlight eyes with? tape would peel the chrome off i would think..

2. I didn't paint that part...i like it that way makes it more eye catching when your on the side.

well i wouldnt open my headlights just to color the DDEs...but one of my DDEs is out umnitza is sendine me a new 1 free of charge..and im also gonna clear the signals...figure ill do everything now. but thanks everyone for the input now i have an idea on what to get.
