Alarm does not chrip when locking or unlocking ONLY when car is remote started

I have a 791xv remote, with a 790xv brain, the alarms siren does not chirp when I unlock or lock the doors ONLY when the car is remote started. The doors do unlock and lock and the lights flash, but the siren does not chirp. It chirps every other time as long as the car is not remote started. What the hell?

This is a weird issue, also ONLY when remote started when I hit the panic button it takes a few second for the alarm to start blaring. At this point the chirp associated with lock and unlock starts working. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. WTF?

Thats quite a problem youve got there. I have no clue. Probably gonna have to send it to DEI, as it sounds like a problem within the brain.

AHHH! Now the chirp isn't working at all. Or it rarely ever works. When the alarm is going off it's a 5-7 second delay before the horns start blaring. The lights are blinking, doors are locking and unlocking fine. And remote is receiving and sending all commands.

call DEI or go to a local shop like Circuit City (my local one actually has a guy that really does know what he's doing) and have them take a look. As long as the alarm works i wouldn't worry too much, its just an audio confirmation

yea, thats also a possibility check the black wire on the siren. Whenever i do an alarm i always ground the black wire right to the chasis of the sirensince it is metal and ur screwing it into the metal on the car. But if they ran it into the car with the red wire chances are it couldve come loose

make sure the led is not on solid. If it is, then the alarm is in valet mode. Otherwise, check the siren, the connections at the brain, and if you have the install manual you might need to do some reprogramming.

Grounding at the siren is the absolute worst thing to do. Rust/corrision will eventually lead to problems and the siren will fail. Always run into the car.

I had an extra relay installed to supply more power since the strobes, and air horns, and viper siren all go off when the alarm is going off. So far so good .

Did you find out why your siren wasn't going on or just had the relay installed?

I had an extra relay installed recently, one that supplies more power since the strobes, DEI siren, and air horns go off simultaneously.
