Advice needed!!! 2.62 pulley may be going on soon!!

Ok so here we go again. Today one of my freinds gave me a 2.62 pulley he had laying around and i was so excited that i didn't think about how that would cause a serious threat of detonation issues. I am still running stock timming w/ the water/alcohol injection. When running the 2.87 pulley with the w/a injection my boost guage only reads 10-10.5 psi and 12psi w/o it. I still have to do my cold air intake and 3 inch pipe. My question is will runing the 2.62 w/ the cai and the 3' pipe be to much w/ stock timming. I really don't want to hassle with the emanage timming harness but if it is needed i will go that route.

Btw when adjusting timming while tunning what device is used to detect detonation so that adjustments can be made?

Definitely get the timing harness and pull some timing, especially since your Emanage is scaling the MAF voltage for bigger injectors.

Supposedly, reducing the MAF voltage advances timing by putting you in a lower load area of the timing map.

J&S Safeguard is the BEST option for tuning timing and saving your motor if things go wrong. You could also trade up to the EU, so the injector scaling wouldn't affect timing.

I am using the injector harness when adding fuel. I thought if you were adding fuel via maf conditioning is when the timming was advanced?

I believe with the MAF when you pull fuel or - correction(on SAFC) is when timing is advanced. Adding fuel/ + correction can lead to timing retard, however the amount of retard will not be known without getting the timing read.

I could be wrong, it has been awhile, but the injector scaling is done through MAF conditioning.

The 2.62" pulley and running 100% methanol injection would be a good test on the dyno, since you'd be able to hear if there was detonation.

Yeah I think it is wiser to dyno or track your car to make sure it is making the power it should be first. You have already done a ton of mods. If your car is not making the power it is supposed to be, the more mods you do the harder it will be to troubleshoot.

Buy the ignition harness yet? You'll need the diodes from BigDogJonxs' thread too.
