dealership prices = stealership prices...
go with a local parts store as the parts are all remanufactured in the same place and the dealership just puts your part in a nifty "NISSAN" box.

Well, i just ordered one from pinnacle nissan for 185 !!! if a rebuilt one w/ 3 months warranty is 145 and a New one w/ 12k or 1 yr warranty is 185, i guess i didnt make a bad investment.

You made a wise choice. The chain store remans are crap. You'd be changing it again shortly.

Can't beat a lifetime one. Though you may never replace it after the first time.

I was quoted $249 for a new Nissan starter plus core. Ended up paying about $140 for remanuf. at Autozone plus core. Sounds and works like original. I have had trouble with remanuf. starters in the past, but they have always replaced bad units with no questions asked. Just requires lots of patience when you are your own mechanic. I would have preferred an OEM unit, but in the end the price difference was just too much
