Trunk won't stay closed.

Today I drove around in the mountains pretty hard with a couple of somewhat heavy loose objects in my trunk. Wehn I got back, I popped the trunk to see how baddly everything had moved around and oddly enough everything looked like it was right where I left it, so I shut the trunk and forgot about it. Fast forward 5 hours later I'm at work, go to get something out of my trunk, it pops right open, close it and it just bounces right back open and won't latch no matter what I try. I tried moving the lower latch part to get it in position, but I don't know whats wrong with it, because I can easily move it around and it looks like the body piece it bolted in to moves with it, so I don't know if I somehow broke that body piece off or what, but its definitely not working. On an interesting side note, this has happened to me before, and last time I just kept trying to close it and it eventually did and gave me no more troubles, not so lucky this time.

If you pull back the black plastic piece that goes over the trunk latch (make sure you don't break off the plastic clips prying it off) there are only two 10mm bolts holding it on. If they are loose, simply tighten them with the latch straight and you should be fine. Hopefully you haven't stripped or broken the bolt threads in the trunk lid.

Good luck!!
