putting in y/b pipe... replace 02 sensors?

Im probably going to get my budget y/b pipe within the next month so i was wondering if i should change the o2 sensors. Car has 130k miles on it and although i do have maintenance records for it, they say nothing about getting any o2 sensors replaced.

You don't have to get any O2 sensors when changing the Y-pipe. It is encouraged since you already have the pipe out, but not required. I didn't changed my O2 sensors when replacing the y-pipe and they still in great working condition. But if you have the extra money why not.

I did not replace the o2 sensor either and it works fine .. but the guy at the exhaust shop did say if I had extra dough to just put new ones in since everything was already out

It's almost always a pita to remove those o2 sensors due to the placement, and the heat. Most times they are rusted on. My opinion and when I get my y-pipe, new sensors are going in.

O2 sensors aren't cheap. (especially OEM ones!)
I wouldn't replace them unless you have a CEL. They really aren't that hard to replace, you can get a tool from Autozone that will easily get them loose.

You think that's bad...I had to get one from the dealer for $140 cause it was the only place that had the oems in stock...It's fine if you don't replace them, but MAKE SURE you do not strip them while taking them out You'll blow a hole in ur wallet if you do...had some dude put ma Y in and da guy stripped them...prolly cuz he didn't use PBlaster before he took them off...anyways, they're not cheap like u saw so be careful...

If it is the downstream sensor that is throwing the code it is not imperative to replace it since its primary function is a backup incase of an upstream sensor malfunction. However, it is nice to not have the check engine light on 24/7.
