when do you usually start to pull timing...?
for those supercharged, at what pulley/psi do you start to pull timing and if so how much across the band is a good rule of thumb being conservative and of course only using premium octane...?
I know the best way to go about it would to get a J&S safeguard or even OBD log and see if any is pulled...then keeping retarding with emanage until it no longer does but nonetheless when in your experiences (at what pulley/psi) have you had to retard the timing using a modest 12 or 12.5:1 AFR and premium octane gas...?

My last motor blew at a freaking 11:1 a/f ratio.... culprit was that timing was too advanced since I was using the emanage injector correction, AND pulling fuel.... scary stuff... I think you're on the ball, J&S with a obdII log will do you right.
The way to do it RIGHT is to get your car on a load dyno and tune for MBT (minimum best torque). But this can get expensive of course, depending on your setup. Especially for turbo guys who might be tuning at multiple boost levels and with various fuels (93, 100, 110, 116, etc). I'm thinking about just taking the plunge and doing it after I get my car setup in spring.
Right now I just start pulling timing at 8psi pulling 2 degrees per psi above that until 5000rpms and then adding back half a degree per 500rpms until redline. This is probably overkill which is why I want to get the car on a dyno to be tuned.

hmm...so if under 10 psi stock timing is fine eh?
but nealoc you are T/C'ed so you need to pull timing at your spool up rpm...
whereas with s/c'ed guys, timing would have to pulled linearly but only starting at when we hit around 8-10 psi and thenforth until it passes peak torque, then we start adding back it sounds like...
