4th Gen in Malaysia
4th Gen in Malaysia
I was in Malaysia this past week. They have a version of the Cefiro called Eximo 20G. Probably a 2.0 liter version of the VQ. They also have a version of the Bluebird. The taxi company pick me up with a 25 years old MB W123 diesel.
The locally made Proton brand is a technology transfer with Mitsubishi Motor like Hyundai.
Arriving in Japan on Friday, I noticed the Japanese version of the M35/M45 is called the Fuga.

They have a car very much like the Scion called Nissan Box.

Pretty cool to see other rides from other countries.
I was in Bolivia in December and saw quite a few different cars than here. They use a lot of Mercedez trucks over there, and little box looking vans (like baby buses). I was driving in this little Nissan car (can't remember the name), but the speedometer cluster looked pretty much like the one in my Maxima, just smaller

hey at least its legite, I"ve seen pictures of Chinese motor companies that have ripped off car companies's designs straight from the drawing board. I thought this would be the same case but guess I was wrong... would be pretty nice to have a 4.5 in a max.
Hi!
I'm one of the 4th gen 3.0 max owner from malaysia , 2.0 they really don't get that much better gas mileage than the 3.0 because they are same body weight but 2.0 got less power (around 155hp).
The reason of people buying the 2.0 max in malaysia it is because the roadtax are cheaper that 3.0

Not a big difference in gas mileage though. I recall in Europe max called maxima QX same thing as I30

I past by Mazda's test track in Miyoshi near Hiroshima last year. It is ringed with dirt banks and tall trees. It is said that Nissan and Toyota have spys camped out there.

Has anyone seen what the Maxima (Cefiro) looks like in Taiwan?? Exterior design is just about that of the I30 which ya know...but the interior I feel North American models got jipped on. I saw one that had the matching side door panels as the color of the dash, which made the leather insert really stand out. Plus they offered wood auto shifter, steerring wheel and wood across the leather insert to kinda "set it off".

Some how I doubt Nissan is spying on Ford owned, market share lossing Mazda, seeing that the best they can come up with is a 235 hp torque less turd named the RX-8... Definately NOT any RX-7 TT. I guess the apple DOES fall far from the tree at Mazda.

A friend got a ticket from a Orbis (camera speed trap) and it cost him $800. The population density and road condition is as such that these high performance cars are exercise in futility. They have a word for them in Japan that I shall not repeat here. This Renault guy cleaned all that out and brought the company back to life.
I don't really know whether there are spys at Miyoshi or not. That's only what the locals said.

We have camera speed traps in this country. We have areas of high population density as well, and high performance cars are not an exercise in futility in this country. Niether is it in Japan. They have devices called radar detectors just like in this country.
The Renault guy has done exactly opposite of what you say. He actually brought BACK the Japanese sports car to the US market. The G35 and the 350Z and the up coming GTR are proof of this. They never went away in Japan. The 300ZXTT lasted from 1990-2002 in that country. Six years longer than in this country. He did not clean out performance in Japan. Ghosn is taking cars that already exist and making them better in that country. You need to read a case study.

dang V8 on a 4 door?, 4.5l, that must be fun!
