he means where the outer skin of the door meets the rest of the door.

PS: vsamoylov- any shop can match the paint exactly, all they have to do is check the vin number and they can reproduce the exact paint, a nissan dealer would be especially expected to match it with the right paint since it is a nissan

but it also depends on the car's age...over time, the paint will fade, making it harder and harder to match...his car is almost 6 years old....

dude i am not stupid. i paint cars as well.

what i meant about the skin is that they bend is very critical. if it is not bent right the skin over time will begin to come apart from the door.

From the first after pic, it looks like the repaired door is not as shiny as the driver side door(the blurry look). This is the problem I usually notice when a car was painted due to collision. Does anyone else spot it?

could be because there was a reflection of the sky on the drivers door and a tree on the other door?

lol i put a 2k3 bump on my 2k max with entire stillen kit and figured why not paint the rear bump as well since it had a little wear on it. i have a pearl white max and it was painted by the most reputable shop twice without success of matching. 1st by the numbers with tint to account for fade due to age.....no not even close.... and 2nd by color panels sent from glazierith. Actual painted panels not colored chips and the front of the car matches well but the rear does'nt at all imho. front and rear of car did not fade the same as it's not turned around every day mid day to tan evenly lol. only option now is to fade paint into body panels so your eye can't pick up slight variation in color but not sure how much more i want to pay for this mod. so it's not that easy on the pearls for sure, so if you do get a good paint match be VERY HAPPY!!!!

Dont some shops have some sort of digital imaging to help match the paint accounting for fade? I thought I heard someone talking about this recently.
