I have 3000 miles on my Max. I bought some Syntec 5w-50. It this grade ok for the summer? Also any recommendations on what filter I should use?

I'd wait at least another 3k before changing to synthetic (or semi-synthetic in the case of Syntec) to be sure the rings are really well seated.
