4th gen SUNVISORS in a 3rd gen...help
I always liked the fact that the 4th gen sunvisors were illuminated. So, I want them in my 3rd gen (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2069212). Does anyone know how well, or IF,they will fit? Will they light up? Can/How can I hook up the HomeLink buttons? Any insight will be GREATLY appreciated so I don't go out there and waste my money...
Someone did this a while back (couple of years ago I think).
dmontzsta is the one that did it so you may pm or email him and ask what he did to get it to work. He is a pretty helpful guy so I think he will help you out.

As long as the mechanical portion of the swap is easy, then all you have to do is find a way to power the homelink/lights. Shouldn't be that hard if you can run a power wires down the pillar. Or steal power from the sunroof for center map light etc....
I just received your PM and sent you one back.
It was not hard to do at all. Like Jeff said, you steal your power from the dome light, that is what I did. The only bad thing is the visor does not match the headliner now.
The Bad:
1. Since there is electrical, the mounting portion of the 4th gen visor dangles away from the roof a little on one side.
2. I have also been having troubles with the screw backing out. The roof is just sheet metal, so there is no thread. I just have to tighten up the screw every so often, or the visor gets real shaky.
3. The holes in the headliner is sort of oval, for the 3rd gen. When you mount the 4th gen visor, you can see the corners of the old mounting area.
The Good:
1. Homelink visors are much nicer than carrying a door opener.
2. They are the same shape as the 3rd gen visors.
3. The illuminated mirror is nice.
I hope this helps you.

I covered the screw in it and it held for the usual 1-2 mos.
