i just ordered a set of the HID fogs from Matt at Umnitza. Last i heard from MaximaPolak was that the older ones that they sold through umnitza were more purple and the new ones they have for sale are more blue. ill post pics when i install them but it wont be until the end of march.

OK 3000k is yellow...4300k is pure white...6000k hint of blue...8000k more blue....9000k starts turning purple and 1200k is straight up purple...temperatures may vary a bit with different brands i guess but shouldnt be much different..I'm not an HID whiz or anything but this is what i know to my understanding of kelvin ratings.

I have 8K HIDs in my fogs and they are purple, but in some pictures they would be purple and some pics they'd be green
but if you go 10K or 12K, they will definitely be purple......i think that would be hot in your fogs
is your max a 98 or 99? because that makes a world of difference fitting HIDs in the fogs

4300k is most certainly NOT pure white. It still has a lot of yellow to it. 5000k is about as white as you can get without any noticeable blue OR yellow. 6000k is blue-ish white. 7000k is blue. 8000k is blue-ish purple. 10k is purple with a bit of blue. 12k is purple. And anything that is above that is black light.

Seen a few riced out civics with purple headlights, and fogs. Sh!tty pruple was barely hitting the ground. 7000k+ FTL
And I will also confirm my philips 6000k are NOT purple.

You can call it sh!tty if you want, maybe in the Civic......
Mine used to be perfect. Yea some glare towards oncoming drivers, but light output color in dry and rain were magnificent.

4300K still has a bit of yellow to it (but you don't notice it), it's not necessarily pure white but it's the optimum kelvin rating for output (lumens). daylight around noon is ~5500K. 6000K is just a bit blue. 8K is deep blue and I'd say anything beyond 10-12K is fine if you want purple.
Google "kelvin light temperature." All lights will look bluer/less yellow during the night than during the day, because our eyes' "white balance" are adjusted differently.
