The adapter cables were too hard to make, so I designed the waste spark adapter module:

I have yet to install the J&S and it came with the adapter cables, would it be easier to use the module? Is it only for '03 G35/350z ecu or compatible with a maxima too? If so how much for just the module?

The module works on Maxima, 350z, G35, etc.

It's $35.

Note that the emanage cannot drive the 300 ohm coil simulator resistors presently installed in the J&S.

One solution is to make an amplified waste spark adapter module. Same price, but would need at least twenty paid orders.

OK, John I am confussed. Do I need this for my current setup.

Reminder: eManage and your J&S. You just re-built it for me after I blew 4 coil packs and you updated the firmware in my J&S.

If so, wat exactly does this do for me?

So with the module, I no longer need the adapters plus I dont have a emange so would you have this available already?

Not only were the adapter cables hard to build, they also require that the installer have the correct tool to crimp the Weatherpack pins. The nice thing about them is you could easily go back to stock if you wanted to.

The adapter module has screw terminals. No crimper required. Easier to install, but not as nice to put back to stock. You would need to use butt slices, or use the adapter module as a terminal block.

LatinMax: I didn't rebuild your unit. I sent you a new one, with the latest output drive circuits. The original drivers worked fine on the early Maximas, but we lost a few coils when installed on 350z's.

I don't remember if I made your new unit emanage compatible (doubt it). Measure the resistance between one of the input channel pins and ground. Normally, the reading will be about 350 ohms. To work with emanage, the resistance should be about 10k ohms. Adding resistors between the emanage and the J&S won't work.

As I said above, the solution is to make new adapter modules with an internal amplifier. My design time is "free", but the pcb house has a $500 minimum.
