5.5 gen, more reliable than the 4th gen?
5.5 gen, more reliable than the 4th gen?
I guess this question is geared more towards people who have owned both generations. Which one did you find to be more reliable? Or do you consider them about the same?
I don't think reliability is an issue with either gen, but the 5 and 5.5 gens tend to have MAF problems. I lost one at 45K, and many other members here have lost multiple ones. Don't let that scare you away, though,

my very close friend has had 2 4th gens for close to 200k miles now w/o problems. the first one was 95 se auto, which go totaled, now he has a 96 se 5spd. both are/were bulletproof. i think the 5 and 5.5 gen have more computer driven parts, which fail more often. as far as mechanical reliability, it's probably the same. from what i have seen with my own car the random ses lights are more common on 5.5 gen.
