5.5 gen, more reliable than the 4th gen?

I guess this question is geared more towards people who have owned both generations. Which one did you find to be more reliable? Or do you consider them about the same?

Don't know a/b reliabliness but I liked my 4th gen more than my 5th gen since my old max was stick shift.

I don't think reliability is an issue with either gen, but the 5 and 5.5 gens tend to have MAF problems. I lost one at 45K, and many other members here have lost multiple ones. Don't let that scare you away, though, I love my car!

my very close friend has had 2 4th gens for close to 200k miles now w/o problems. the first one was 95 se auto, which go totaled, now he has a 96 se 5spd. both are/were bulletproof. i think the 5 and 5.5 gen have more computer driven parts, which fail more often. as far as mechanical reliability, it's probably the same. from what i have seen with my own car the random ses lights are more common on 5.5 gen.
