okay...its from an 04 Maxima with 18,000 miles. Complete engine with 5 speed auto tranny. all for $700

1.) does anyone know if the 5 speed auto tranny will work in a 4th gen?

2.) how much would it cost to do the entire swap?

Pretty positive the 5spd auto won't work. You would be better off
doing a 5spd swap at the same time.

Your 97 TCM is not going to be able to control that 5 speed auto tranny. An 04 TCM is not going to talk to your 3.0 ecu.

AFAIK everyone doing 3.5 swaps is using a manual tranny (5 or 6 speed) or re-using their original 4th gen auto tranny.

I could probably sell the 5 speed auto here on the org and from that buy a 5 speed manual...Kinda tight on the money but i dont want to let this deal get away.

 

If you're tight on money and asking qeustions that have been answered here plenty of times and years ago... You need to back up and reconsdier this swap because you're definately not ready.

 

update...I actually got this deal from ebay and I bid on it and the guy gave me the second chance offer so I emailed him and it turns out he didnt understand what the second chance offer meant so i wont be getting these items
