Hi I own a 2000 WRX. The mods I own are listed below. I live in a suburb of Dallas, Texas. Well as I was returning from work tonight I spot this Maxima. It appeared to be a 2000 or 2001 Maxima. The Maxima was a dark color, not exactly black. All I remember as he left me behind was his bright headlights and yellow fog lights. From what I can see he had a Turbo in his car, I saw 2 different gauges on his left pillar. His car was slammed with some nice shiny chrome rims. He also had a Maxima.org sticker under an inverted Infinity mimicking Pac man eating an SI and Type R badge. ( Very humorous if you ask me). He also had a Maximadriver.com Sticker on his rear passenger window. Not to mention his car was loud. Well to make a point to my story, he decides to race me. All I can say is that his Maxima was fast. So fast he left me behind in embarrassment. We stop at the next light and he gives me the thumbs up. All I have to say is that I will no longer mess with any Maximas. You guys are just too fast for me. Also to the person who raced me, you have a beautiful car and keep up the good work.

This is a joke right?

unless he's SC'd i can see why wouldn't mess with one...but you'd be able to toast most Maxes on the road, even if you were you're stock.

Well he was either Supercharged or Turbo'd. He had some nice guages on his left pillar. I though I would have "toasted" him as well, but he was either a very good driver or he has some major mods on his car.

Maxima.

Why do you think I'm weird? Just because I lost to a Maxima, would that make me weird? I'm sorry if I have offended you in some way. I was just curious on how fast a Maxima is.

I'm a wierdo?

WRXboy...try a search for on the site for 1/4 time..etc. plenty of guys are running in the 14s...even some in the low 14s for mildy modded Maxes. SC'd Maxes hit the 13s (lower and higher of course). But you should have no trouble with most Maximas.

Well....from your description it could be youngjun from this forum. Hell.....I live in Buffalo.....I dunno. The reason I say that is that he posted a race video from his car and in the end the camera swings to the rear window and you can see his logo on the back.....which looks like a giant pac man.

WRX is fast but....

the lights in the back look weird, the styling is plain, its just not for me, but yea its a mighty fast car though. some chick at school has one and she doesn't drive real well so i burn her, plus she gets scared going past 60 on the streets hehe.

WRX

A friend of mine has a WRX, we havent raced from a stop yet, but on the highway its over before it begins for me... from about 60-90 he put like 1.5-2 lengths on me... in just that short 30 mph stint. i've ridden in the car, and it plainly pulls harder than my maxima does... we got burned by a guy we knew in a 13 second Eclipse GS-T though. we were thinkin we were fast until he blew us away

I think a stock WRX can easily take a non-SCed maxima, dont be intimidated, i know i like to race WRXs, even though i always lose.

2002 is the intro date for the USDM Impreza WRX. but there have been kits to put the turbo in the Impreza, a 2.5RS needs an engine swap to the 2.0L turbo. i'm shocked the AWD didn't get the Max at take off.

WRX guy: you got a nice car. You should able to take most Maximas that are not on the bottle or supercharged. Ask Loren. Those suckers can get off the line almost perfectly with their AWD. That alone should allow to you take out most if not all Maximas off the line. I have yet to run into a WRX, but if I do, I'll race it. I'm sure I'll lose, but whocares, it's fun. I wouldn't mind getting a WRX, if I had the money.

I took the WRX out for a test drive on Saturday. I was VERY impressed with the car! Did a couple of launches from about 4K and it just took off! The engine makes sweet sounds for a 4 cylinder but you have to keep the revs above 3.5K to keep the turbo spooled. I'm not crazy about the looks from the outside but the interior is nicely done.
There were three on the lot and they were asking sticker for them.
