Should i paint my grill black?

I have a 99 pebble beige gxe with the chrome trim obviously since its a GXE. I don't want my grill body color. Should i paint it black? Bijangxe has it on his white max and it looks great, but i dont know how it would look on pebble beige. I have 20% tinted windows and DTM tails, so i was thinking it would fit into the theme. Any opinions?

I think chrome only works for a black max, since it makes it stand out more, why don't u photoshop it and see how it would look like painted?

Doesn't Ninos_Maxima have a black grill on his beige GLE? I think I remember him having one. IMO, you'd have to AE the lights as well to make them look good.

the photoshop is worth the effort. that will give you a good idea if it would flow or not. IMO, i don't think it would be the best thing. i say, go body color for the SE look.

I don't think it would blend with the body color.

I think body color would look better but I agree with the photoshop idea so you can see what you like more.

stay body color or chrome. Mismatch FTL.

Also, it would be a lot easier to buy an SE grille and paint it body color. Chrome is tough to prep and paint

Aight, so most people are against it. I have some body color paint in my garage, but i dont know if i like body color on a pebble beige. Black looks so nice on a white max, i thought it might look good on mine too since its also a relatively light color. I wish i could photoshop, but i cant. Eventually i want to get a black stillen kit and gunmetal/polished lip rims though, i think i'll just wait until that time to mess with the grill, but the chrome is...not my taste anymore.

Look for Ninos_maxima's posts. He has pictures, and it looked good with his lights AE'd. PM him to get his attention.

Eh, i'm spraying my grill black but i'm also super black GLE. Just wondering how many layers of actual black and clear coat are you guys looking at to put on.

And how does the front emblem come off...

Black grilles only look good on black cars. Multicolored schemes look out of place, ricey and ghey. I had a chrome grille on before i swapped over, so take a look at my homepage for people that don't believe chrome looks like crap on any color max, black included.

Chrome grilles are trash. I had a black grille on my car for a a few months and the look was decent, but still not as smooth looking as the body colored grille. I may get another black grille though for this summer to match my black out projectors and my black diamond cut clear corners (I don't have these but I may get them).

Anything is better than chrome... even if that is a hideous-looking combination.
