Is this a safety thing (so kids don't climb out the windows, etc.) and it can be altered or is simply impossible (location of rear wheels in the way, etc.)? Thanks so much. )

I think this has been answered way too many times... But you're correct on the second reason... It is impossible because it would go into rear wheels..

A physical impossibility

I, too, wish the rear door windows could roll all the way down. It's a physical impossibility. The doors aren't long enough.

Measure the height of your rear door window. It is 17 inches. Now open the rear door and visualize where the trailing edge of the glass would be if the window was rolled down 17 inches. It's not inside the door!

Two ways...

1. Make the Max to a 4X4 so you will have clearance to roll the rear windows down all the way.

2. Move the rear axle about 2 foot back.

I think either one would be a cool mod to show off at the car show

Sorry Guys

I'm sorry it bothers you guys that I asked a question you have seen before. But the way I look at it is, I am VERY clear in what I put in the subject line whenever I post so as not to make anyone who may not be interestd enter. You guys still chose to enter and spend the time to reply. If repeat questions bother you, and you knew it was a repeat question before even going in, then ignore it. Fair enough? And lighten up guys. I see question sometimes that were asked 4 people prior! But if I answered the first one, I go ahead and answer the second one - it's no biggy to me. It's all about learning and sharring knowledge/know-how with each other. Have a great weekend guys.

Sounds like a good idea.

Let's formulate a constructive response for the Sticky. Instead of saying "it can't be done" we can say "it can be done, but one time only." The tools required for this desirable mod are a brick, a dustpan, and a broom.

Then we will have a new thread asking, "How can I get my rear windows to roll all the way UP?"
