Clutch died last night

So I was about to start driving again after a green light, and when I stepped on the clutch it just dropped right to the floor, and even if I lifted it back up it fell right back down again. Heard a whining noise aftwards too, which I'm assuming was the pump running dry?

My friend and I were able to push the car into a parking lot and walk home since we hadn't gotten very far.

It was really dark out so I didnt get to check the fluid reservoir to see if there was still anything in it but I assumed it was empty. Also coulnd't see any puddles of fluid in the road so I'm not sure if it was a slow leak or had burst just before I pressed the pedal down.

anyone have any ideas how much I'm going to be looking at for repairs if it's just a burst hose? or is it more likely something more serious? I'm going to get the car towed to the dealer today since I'm at school right now and done have the time or the tools to look into it myself

Sounds like your master/slave ran dry. Could be a leak, look around.
Fill the system up, bleed the lines and keep your eye on the fluid level for a few days.

Hydrolic failure. This same thing happed to me at a stop light - the clutch petal stayed on the floor and I could not even engage a gear ( I was in neutral) to limp home. I had a cracked maniflod leading from the master cylinder. About $400 fix with parts/labor. Like njmaxseltd said, I would fill/bleed and check your lines for a few days - the leak is probably slow so you can pinpoint it.
