Turn signals work, hazards don't. Why?
Turn signals work, hazards don't. Why?
So about a year ago I tried doing the alarm buzzer mod. It seemed to work the way I had it wired for about 3 beeps or so, then it started to not work. The buzzer just stopped buzzing. I think I had the horn grounded to the chassis which caused some kind of short. Where do I look for this short?
It's very strange, turn signals work fine, but when the hazards go on they do not work, and the turn signals do not work at that time either of course.
Any suggestions?

Have not tried this one, but if its bad would it cause the turn signals to be bad too?

I believe it controls both the hazards and the L/R flash.

I tried and replaced this one, no workey still..
On a side note, Tom, I have some major creaking and crap in my suspension. I can't for the life of me figure out what it is. Is this something you still can take a look at, and/or recommend what may need replaced? TIA.

my fsm for my 97 does not show any connections in between the fuse and the lighter socket. what i would do is pull the cigarette lighter fuse out and measure for voltage in the fuse panel where the fuse goes. don't forget to turn on the ignition switch and check both fuse leg connections. with the fuse pulled out, there will only be voltage on one of the 2 legs.
if you have voltage, check the fuse for continuity with your meter. if the fuse is good and you have voltage on one side of the fuse socket, then my guess would be that you have a bad wire connection on the back of the fuse panel (the orange/blk stripe wire).
if you didn't get any voltage when checking the fuse panel, again i would suspect a bad connection to the fuse from the ignition switch.
