I know you'll all get a good laugh at this one. Before I left for work this morning, I thought I would wipe down my Maxima and use some of that great Zaino Gloss Enhancer spray... Well I had my sun glasses on in the low lit garage and I grabbed the wrong spray bottle I grabbed the Eagle One Tire Wet and proceeded to spray my trunk and hood area. I rubbed it in a bit until I noticed it wasn't going on very well and I looked at what I was holding in my hand and thought "How stupid am I!" So I broke out some mild soap and water and washed down the hood and trunk to try and get that greasy tire stuff on my car! I think I got most of it off.

I don't think it will have any ill effects on the paint, but it still gave me a very uneasy feeling. Think it will be alright?

Regards,
Village Idiot

doh! If you washed it off quick, then I wouldn't sweat it. That tire stuff is probably some sort of silicone. If you got it off and cleaned the area, it should be all good.

You paint will start peeling off in a few days, then it'll eat up your hood and go straight down to your engine soon after. Once it's done eating everything, you'll be left with nice shiney tires.

Good thing you noticed before it was too late.

Not only will that stuff degrade paint even faster, your engine will lose a lot of horsepower (you'll be down to 125) j/k

Actually it won't hurt it, I use a little bit of that stuff on my door sills, bottom door jambs.

Don't worry about it too much because it's not going to destroy your finish. Just wash it when you get home. Here's a flower to make you feel better

Silicon?? No No NO... I heard from a pretty reliable source that this tire stuff is made from the very same stuff that our military uses for nano-technology... the substance will first start by breaking down the clear coat on a molecular level.. It will then proceed to feed on the paint. The cheap quality will only cause it to grow stronger. Before you know it, your the nano-cites will mutate your car into a rusty old metro.. And that's the best case scenario.. Worst case? An even rustier tricylce... I've seen it happen.. it's not pretty... there's NO STOPPING IT!!!

Quick!! run amok (adj. In a murderous frenzy as if possessed by a demon, adv. Wildly; without self-control)

-Tom Z.

PS.. don't worry, i'm sure it won't hurt your car...

when they filmed the "Aliens" movies, they used the tire shine spray as their blood...

I knew one guy who accidently got it on his engine and 2 cylinders disappeared overnight!!!

Ok, after rather extensive research (at blockbuster), I have found the solution to your problem.

The actual details are kept top secret, but here is what I gathered from my research

#1. You have to create and upload a computer virus to your car.
#2. This will somehow inexplicably affect the tire "stuff", causing it to rather immediately self-destruct.
#3. Beware!! my research indicates that your car may subsequently explode... So you must frantically run away (IN SLOW MOTION!). When it explodes, you MUST leap forward. If done correctly, you will *not* be hurt by the explosion, regardless of the severity.
#4. Humanity will be saved, and you will hook up with the pretty girl.

Hope this helps!

Ouch......the comedians in this audience are killing me!!! Seriously, I would wash it and then spot wax the area as it may have pulled the wax off. Black Magic makes a car paint sealer that looks just like its liquid armor all.....imagine doing the whole car with it !!!
