Caliper maintenance? Possible?

I think my calipers are going bad. I live in arizona so there is no weather wear. I only have 60k on the car. I dont want to go buy new ones, is there a way to service them?

You can relube them, but its a PITA to do. You have to take the caliper off the car, pop out the piston with air, clean, replace seals, regrease, and reassemble. Rebuild kit costs ~$30 to do both. Rebuilt caliper is about $40 for one.

I think auto zone charges $90 and some change for 1 caliper. Minus the $45 core charge it comes out to about $40 per caliper.

I believe the rear calipers and almost double what the fronts are. That said, I think getting the rebuilt calipers are way better than trying to rebuild. It took me a set of rotors (warping) to realize my calipers were starting to stick. If you have the money for it, when it comes time for new rotors, I would definitely swap out the calipers--depends on your situation though.
