Low auto tranny fluid

Can low tranny fluid cause occasional rough downshifts, idle drop while costing, and lower then normal idel? It is about a quart low and is not red, it should be right?

id make sure its full and maybe do a 4-5 quart change of fuilds. too burnt/brown can be bad.
