Hesitation 1-2 shift

Hey folks...

I have a 2k2 maxima automatic SE. It's got 77k miles on it, and about 5k miles ago it was moved up to synthetic oil/tranny oil.

I don't know how it was long ago (i've owned since 71k) but I'm getting some hesitation for the 1-2 shift. It's more noticable when the car is cold, but it seems to happen all of the time.

For a while I thought it was because maybe I'm letting off the gas a bit, but I conciously stopped doing this and it still hesitates.

I can drive normally, and between the 1-2 shift takes quite a while (unless I'm at WOT).

Anyway, this combined with my intuition that my car isn't performing at its best (I got a check engine lite long ago that just went away)

Any ideas for things to look at? Should I change my tranny oil again?

I'd go to the dealer and see if any codes are stored for some type of tranny issue. This is a process of elimination thing.... rule out one then go on to the next. The tranny issues for the automatics are numerous, look back through about 7-10 pages of posts and read up, there will be plenty of ideas there. Good luck.

I am having a similar problem, however my issue is between 2nd and 3rd on my automatic 2002 SE. When it shifts from 2nd to 3rd it slips (about 1 second) and the engine revs up a bit, then catches, and proceeds shifting into 3rd. I searched the site, and found this thread (see link below), which may help you. Not to steal technogeeky's thunder for the original post, but can anyone help me with the 2nd to 3rd issue. Will Amsoil correct this problem?

I would suggest to the site moderator to add this issue to the Installation Instructions / How-To's For ... this seems to be a common issue/problem.
