My 01 Max has 96K miles and the factory drive belt on. The owners manual says to "inspect" at 60K and 15k thereafter. So I checked it over tonight. The belt looks okay except for little cracks starting to show up under the groves....cracks like I've seen on tons of other belts.

So what's the consensus on these belts, replace periodically or run them until they break? Thanks.

 

I replaced mines when I saw the small cracks.... didn't want to take a chance.. I didn't do the power steering one cause it is a pita to do... might take it to the shop to do it.

 

I had the dealer replace all of my belts at 92K miles when I did my 90K major service. It started showing cracks in the belt. My hoses on the other hand looked good. I would definately recommend replacing your belts.
